This rosary is made in the Anglican style with 4 sets of 7 beads in the loop. The week beads are 12 mm round moss agate beads, the large beads are 12 mm betel nuts, and they are separated by 3 mm round antiqued brass beads. The larger size of these beads make this rosary ideal for use by those with larger hands.
The cross is carved from Chinese littleleaf boxwood and is 57 mm long and 35 mm wide. The entire rosary is approximately 14.5 inches from the bottom of the cross to the top of the loop when stretched out long.
The rosary is strung on nylon cord, which gives great flexibility to the beads as they are being used and held. The terminating knots are reinforced with glue for additional sturdiness.
Moss agate beads are made from natural stone and therefore contain natural color variations from bead to bead, but are generally in the green range with intriguing mottled patterns of moss-like inclusions that appear to float in this semi-translucent stone.
The betel nut (or areca nut) is the seed of areca palm trees that grow in the tropical Pacific, Asia, and parts of east Africa.
