Description
This rosary is made in the Anglican style with 4 sets of 7 beads in the loop. The week beads are 12 mm red malachite beads, the large beads are 12 mm buri root beads, and they are separated by 3 mm round gunmetal beads. The larger size of these beads make this rosary ideal for use by those with larger hands.
The cross is antiqued pewter and is 54 mm long and 27 mm wide. The entire rosary is approximately 14 inches from the bottom of the cross to the top of the loop when stretched out long.
The rosary is strung on nylon cord, which gives great flexibility to the beads as they are being used and held. The terminating knots are reinforced with glue for additional sturdiness.
Red “malachite” is a type of jasper with banding that resembles the banded patterns found in natural green malachite, but in a beautiful terra-cotta color that resembles the adobe-style pottery of the Southwest.
The buri root beads are hand-carved beads from the root of the buri palm tree, which is native to India, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, New Guinea, northeastern Australia (Cape York Peninsula, Queensland), and the West Indies. These beads can range from brown to black, but these particular specimens are a deep black.
