Description
This rosary is made in the Anglican style with 4 sets of 7 beads in the loop. The week beads are 10 mm round sierra agate beads, the large beads are 12 mm buri root beads, and they are separated by 3 mm round antiqued copper beads and black glass beads. The larger size of these prayer beads make this rosary ideal for use by those with larger hands.
The cross is carved from Chinese littleleaf boxwood and is 57 mm long and 35 mm wide. The entire rosary is approximately 13 inches from the bottom of the cross to the top of the loop when stretched out long.
The rosary is strung on 49-strand wire with a nylon coating.
Sierra agate is a natural gemstone mined in the Xinjiang province of western China. The stone has warm natural color tones and is composed of green and brown jasper, marbled with pockets of chalcedony. The colors range from brown to rust to green to cream, and each bead is unique.
The buri root beads are hand-carved beads from the root of the buri palm tree, which is native to India, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, New Guinea, northeastern Australia (Cape York Peninsula, Queensland), and the West Indies. These beads can range from brown to black, but these particular specimens are a deep black.
