Description
This mala is made with 66 sodalite 8 mm round stone beads, 28 blue angelite 8 mm round stone beads, and 14 white frosted crackle agate 8 mm round stone beads to give the 108 beads of the mala. The guru bead and marker beads are faceted round 10 mm matte black onyx beads flanked by silver plated roundels.
The mala is made in the Zen style with the 108 beads separated into sections of 7, 14, 66, 14, and 7 with the marker beads. The entire rosary is hand knotted on blue nylon cord.
In place of a tassel, this mala has a hexagonal crystal point made of lapis lazuli (42 mm x 14 mm).
The mala is approximately 22 inches long from the top of the loop to the bottom of the lapis lazuli point when fully stretched out.
Sodalite beads are made from natural stone and therefore contain natural color variations from bead to bead, but they are most a deep blue-violet color with white streaks of calcite.
Blue angelite is a natural light blue stone that is made from calcium sulfate and is found in Peru.
Lapis lazuli is a natural stone that is a vivid ultramarine blue with inclusions that look much like gold dusting.
