This mala is made with 108 matte sodalite 8 mm round stone beads, a faceted 10 mm snow quartz guru bead, and faceted 10 mm snow quartz beads flanked by small antiqued silver roundels serving as marker beads. The mala is made in the Zen style with the 108 beads separated into sections of 7, 14, 66, 14, and 7 with the marker beads. The entire rosary is hand knotted on nylon cord.
The handmade silk tassel is white and dark blue and is 4 inches long.
The mala is approximately 21 inches long from the top of the loop to the guru bead and 25.5 inches from the top of the loop to the bottom of the tassel when fully stretched out.
Sodalite beads are made from natural stone and therefore contain natural color variations from bead to bead, but they are most a deep blue-violet color with white streaks of calcite.
Snow quartz is a cloudy translucent to semi-translucent quartz that comes from microscopic inclusions that were encased in the crystal as it first began growing.
