I accept three kinds of custom orders: custom designs for entirely new designs, rosary bracelet re-sizings, and re-stringing of existing prayer beads. Depending on which option you need, you can read the appropriate sections below.
The general process in all three cases is the same, though.
First, contact me to discuss your needs. All custom orders will be processed through my Etsy store, so the easiest way to start the conversation is by using the Request Custom Order button located under the category menu in my Etsy shop (on a desktop computer) or the Contact button in my Etsy shop from the mobile app. That will allow me to create a private custom order listing that only you can see once we’ve finalized the details. However, you can also contact me via my Contact page to discuss a custom order, if that’s easier for you. It just means that the custom order listing will be publicly available.
Next, once we’ve finalized the details, including the price and how long it will take me to create it after you’ve placed your order, I will create a custom order listing on my Etsy store for you to place your order. Please note that I only ship to USA addresses, so I cannot accept orders from other countries.
Finally, once I have your order, I will create the design we have discussed and ship your order to the address entered in your Etsy order.
Custom designs
I enjoy doing custom orders in order to create a unique set of prayer beads to better meet your needs. However, I am not a metal worker, wood worker, or lapidary artist, so all materials used in a custom order must be ones I can purchase commercially.
To see the supplies I have to work with, you can review the beads and other materials used in my current designs on my Etsy store or my Pinterest boards. In some cases I may be able to order something specific that I don’t normally carry just for your custom order, but since it would not be a bulk purchase, it will likely be considerably more expensive and will inflate the final price.
To initiate the custom order conversation, please provide as much information as possible about the custom design you are desiring (including images of, or links to, related designs). The more detail you can give me up front about all desired parts and style you are hoping for, the easier it will be for me to determine whether or not I can accept your custom request.
Rosary bracelet re-sizings
If you’ve found a rosary bracelet in my shop that you like, but you need it in a different size, contact me to let me know which bracelet you are interested in and what size you need.
To determine your wrist size, wrap a non-stretchy string or cord around your wrist at the place where you would normally wear this bracelet at the looseness at which you would want this bracelet to fit on your arm. Mark the length of string/cord needed to wrap that fit and then measure it on a ruler or tape measure for the inner circumference measurement needed.
Because the number of beads in a rosary bracelet is constrained by the rosary format, my ability to create an exact size is somewhat limited. I can, however, play with bead size, number/type/size of spacer beads, and (in some cases) the shape of the cruciform beads to get as close as possible to the size you need. Once I have something that looks like it will work, I’ll provide a quote and a full description of what it would look like for you decide whether it will work for you.
Re-stringing existing rosaries
I can re-string existing rosaries that have broken (or are becoming worn) using new stringing material (wire or cord). If necessary, this can include replacing any missing parts that may have been lost when the stringing material broke.
For best results, send me a photo of the existing rosary with a description of any beads that are missing. If it looks like one I can repair, I’ll provide a quote and an address to ship the rosary (or prayer beads) to.
Once I’ve received your rosary, I’ll set up the custom order listing for the repair. Once I have your order, I’ll make the repair and ship it back to the address in your Etsy order.
