Although my Anglican rosary stretch bracelets have proven to be much more popular than I ever imagined (leading to an ever-expanding array of styles and sizes), they are limited by the fact that each bracelet is a fixed size that won’t work for everyone.
To make it easier to find a bracelet that fits, I’m now introducing a series of Anglican rosary bracelets that come with adjustable sizing. Each bracelet offers a string of beads that provide the rosary functionality bracketed by stainless steel chains with a silicone-lined stainless steel bead that can slide along the chains to change the size.
Fully extended, these bracelets have an opening of just over 10 inches around, so they should fit over just about any hand before adjusting down to fit your specific wrist size.
On the other hand, this style requires the use of very small (4 mm) beads that will be challenging for most fingers to grasp in the way you would normal rosary beads. A better option would be to use a fingernail to move your way through the beads one at a time.
If nothing else, this bracelet can serve as a discreet reminder of your prayer practice throughout the day, even if you don’t actually use it as a means to pray.
These Anglican rosary bracelets can be prayed in the same way as any Anglican rosary, except that there is only one “week” of beads that is prayed back and forth four times to complete the full four weeks. (If you’re unfamiliar with praying an Anglican rosary, learn more about how Anglican rosaries work in How to use an Anglican rosary.)
Any set of Anglican prayers, including the ones found in the Anglican rosary resources here on this site, work with this rosary as well.
How to pray the Anglican rosary adjustable-size bracelet
To pray the rosary on the bracelet, start at the cross end and move across the string of beads to the invitatory bead as you normally would. (The small metal beads are spacers that are not used in praying.)
Move to the first cruciform bead and then into the first week as you move across the string of beads. That will bring you to the second cruciform bead at the end of the string.
To pray the second week, move back across the week of beads (in the direction of the cross) to come back to the first cruciform bead.
Reverse direction again for the third week, and then return back again for the fourth week.
To finish, you will move back through the invitatory bead and cross.
There are two different styles of stainless steel chain available: snake chain or box chain. Examples of the two styles are shown below. View the full collection of options in the Anglican rosary bracelets section of the shop.
