Prayers for Easter

This set of celebratory and praise-filled prayers is designed for use with an Anglican rosary for Easter.

The first six week bead prayers (shown in italics) are from the Easter prayer of St. Hippolytus of Rome. The remaining prayers are from scripture.

Cross:Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
By His great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
(1 Peter 1:3)
Invitatory bead:Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless His holy name!
(Psalm 103:1)
Cruciform beads:Lord, You are the First and Last.
You are the living one.
You died, but look–You are alive forever and ever!
(adapted from Revelation 1:17b-18a)
Week bead 1:Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate.
Week bead 2:Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen.
Week bead 3:Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing.
Week bead 4:Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty.
Week bead 5:Christ is Risen indeed from the dead, the first of the sleepers,
Week bead 6:Glory and power are his forever and ever.
Week bead 7:Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Invitatory bead:Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Cross:Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15:57)
Amen.

I hope you have a blessed Easter filled with celebration of His resurrection!
